Tyrone Slays Central to Remain Top in the Mountain League

The Tyrone Lady Eagle Basketball team stayed hot Tuesday Night with another win vs a tough Mountain League opponent. They defeated Central 56-44 to claim sole possession of first place in the Mountain League.

Tyrone’s victory was propelled by the underclassmen duo of Jaida Parker and Stephanie Ramsey. Jadia led all scorers with 22 points and Stephanie Ramsey had 11 and with two threes.

Tyrone trailed early as Central opened the game on a 7-0 run. Tyrone responded by scoring the quarters final 9 points. Stephanie Ramsey had the three pointer to push them into the lead.

Tyrone’s offense came to life in the second quarter while their defense shut down the Dragon’s offensive attack. Tyrone’s lead expanded to 8 points as they entered the locker room up 25-14 over the Dragons.

Tyrone outscored Central in the third adding to their lead shortening the distance between them and first place in the Mountain League all to themselves. 

Central’s late push to overtake the Eagles fell short. Even though they outscored Tyrone 20-15 in the final quarter of play it was not enough to complete the comeback. With the win Tyrone moves to 8-2 on the season with a perfect 6-0 Mountain League record.
