Tyrone’s offense came up clutch against Bald Eagle Area in the District 6 semi-finals, putting up 12 total runs and tallying 15 hits.
Brayden Parsons led the Golden Eagles with 4 hits, Connor Zupon followed behind with 3, and Wyatt Kustenbauder hit a 2-run home run.
Carter Price took the mound for Tyrone and went 4.1 innings, walking 4, striking out 3, and only giving up 1 earned run. Brandon McClure came in to relieve Price and did exceptionally well, going 2.1 innings and not giving up an earned run.
The Golden Eagles never took their foot off the gas, and at one point, almost mercy-ruled the Eagles. But after 7 innings, Tyrone ultimately defeated Bald Eagle 12-4.
For the first time in 3 years, Tyrone is headed to the District Championship game. They are also in the state tournament and are looking to make a run for an even bigger title.
The Golden Eagles are set to take on the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers on Thursday, May 28, at 6 pm at Vets Field in Altoona.
