Lady Eagles Top Mounties

The Tyrone Lady Eagle basketball stayed perfect in Mountain League play Friday night as they blew out the Philipsburg Mounties 79-19. The Lady Eagles had 4 players in double digits propelling them over P.O.

The Lady Eagles offense was in sync from the opening tip. They knocked 11 shots from 3-point range.

Sophomore Jaida Parker led all scorers with 17 points. Stephanie Ramsey and Shannon Shaw weren’t far behind Parker. Ramsey scored 13 and Shaw 11 with both hitting 3 shots from beyond the arc. 

Tyrone set the tone right after the opening tip off. They exploded in the first quarter starting the game 31-2 after the end of one. The second quarter was all Tyrone as their offense was knocking down shots with ease. The first half ended with Tyrone in full command leading 52-9. 

Tyrone held P.O. to only 8 points in the second half. Their defense snuffed out every P.O  possession while every shot they took continued to find nothing but the bottom of the net.

With the victory the Lady Eagles move to 7-2 on the season They look to keep rolling when Tussey Mountain comes to town Saturday Afternoon.
