Behind a game high 23 points from senior Sydney Shaw including 4 three pointers the Lady Eagles defeated Mountain League opponent Bald Eagle Area 56-40 Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles also received strong performances from sophomore Shannon Shaw who had 9 points all of which came from three-point range and senior Brooke Welsh who had 8 points all underneath the rim.

The first quarter was lowing scoring as both teams defenses dominated. After the first quarter Tyrone held a slight edge leading 11-10.

In the second quarter Tyrone’s offense exploded for 26 points while their defense refused to give Bald Eagle any breathing room as they held them to only 5 points. Tyrone’s struggling offense was kickstarted by a couple three’s by sophomore Shannon Shaw. The first half came to a close with Tyrone leading 37-15.

The third quarter was played even by the two teams as both teams scored 10 points. But Tyrone’s lead they built in the first half provided them with a good cushion as they lead 47-25 at the end of the third.

Bald Eagle’s offense came to life in the fourth quarter as they scored 15 points while holding Tyrone to only 9, but the Lady Eagles strong performance in the first three quarters was too much for BEA to overcome.

With the win Tyrone’s record improves to 6-3 on the season, the Lady Eagles look to add another win as they travel to PO on Friday to try and grab another Mountain League victory.
