Eagle Eye: What inspired you to become a teacher?

Charlotte Wynn: I was inspired to be a college adviser because when I was in high school everyone assumed I didn’t need help with college “stuff,” so I had to guess my way through everything. I applied to 14 random schools and just went to the one that gave me the most aid. I wanted to be the person who I needed my senior year!

EE: How long have you been teaching?

CW: This is my second year!

EE: Have you always taught at Tyrone? If not, where else?

CW: This was my very first job right out of college. Also, unfortunately this is my second and final year at Tyrone. It is only a two-year position, so someone else will be replacing me for the 2018-19 school year.

EE: What is your favorite memory as a teacher?

CW: My favorite memory at Tyrone so far was the senior walk last year, getting to see all of the kiddos I’d gotten to know be cheered on by their friends–and having a few thank me for my help–was something I’m never going to forget.

EE: If you weren’t teaching right now, what do you think you would have done with your life?

CW: When I went off to college I wanted to be an FBI Forensic Psychologist and criminal profiler. So I’d probably be doing something with criminal psychology!

EE: Where did you attend high school?

CW: I grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and I attended Maize High School.

EE: Where did you attend college?

CW: I attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.

EE: What’s your favorite book?

CW: Either The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood or Frankenstein by Mary Shelly.

EE: What is your favorite sport and sports team?

CW: I love to play and watch soccer. Growing up we didn’t have any local teams to support, so my house was divided between all of the Philly and Detroit teams, because that’s where my parents were from.

EE: What are some of your favorite hobbies?

CW: Everyone knows I love theatre and singing! But I also love video games, listen to lots of true crime podcasts, and watch movie reviews on YouTube. I also love to go on walks.
