Tyrone resident Jamie Oliver has moved into the top five of his group in a national Muscle & Fitness Magazine competition, where the winner earns a magazine feature and a $20,000 prize.
With public voting deciding who advances each round, he’s hoping local support can help push him higher before the next elimination.
Every vote helps him climb the rankings and brings this achievement within reach.
“With help from my community, if I win, it would prove to others and to myself that being dedicated and consistent pays off,” Jamie Oliver said.
A familiar face in the Tyrone community, Oliver is the father of nine children; five are Tyrone alumni: Jaelyn, James, Kristian, Lexi, and Nia, and three are current Tyrone students: senior Raeleigh, seventh-grade student Darian, and sixth grader Lena.
Oliver trains with free weights and machines five to six days a week, combining strength work with a variety of cardio routines. He switches his focus to a different body part each day to keep workouts challenging and maintain steady progress.
Jamie’s father, James Oliver, introduced him to powerlifting.
“I love setting goals and improving my physique and strength, along with helping others I train with reach their goals,” Jamie Oliver said.
When asked what he would do with the $20,000 grand prize, he said he would use it to become a certified trainer and “do what I can for my family,” he said.
Winning would not only reward his hard work but also allow him to give back to the people who are always there for him.
Community members can support Jamie by voting on his profile page (link below). Voters receive one free vote every 24 hours, and additional paid “donation” votes are available for those who want to boost their total even more.
Voting follows a series of weekly elimination rounds. The field is then narrowed through the top 15, top 10, top 5, and the finals, which conclude on March 5.
Each round, the contestants with the most votes move forward.
A wildcard round from March 6–8 gives select runners-up a last chance to reach the quarterfinals (March 9–19), semifinals (March 20–26), and finals (March 27–April 2).
The 2026 winner will be announced on April 24.
All money raised from paid votes goes to The Andrew McDonough Be Positive (B+) Foundation, a charity dedicated to funding childhood cancer research and providing assistance to families in need.
For Jamie, each vote is more than just a click; it is a show of support for a local father, lifter, and role model who works to inspire others.
