Track members huddled together because of the very cold conditions.

Several members of the Tyrone varsity girls and boys track and field team medaled at the Brookeville Invitational in very frigid, windy conditions on Saturday, April 5.

Erika Voyzey medaled in three events, winning the high jump and placing third in both triple and long jump. Her jump of 15’2 & 1/2 in the long jump was her personal best.

Jordan Wiser medaled in the 1600 and placed third. Cassie Friday finished 7th with a 2014 best time of 6:08.

Duane Boone placed 5th in the 400 and Adam Zook finished 8th in the 1600 with a personal best of 5:07.

The 4 by 100 relay team of Scott Goss, Noah Tepsic, Duane Boone and Cameron Bakhsheshe placed 6th, while Cullen Raftery jumped a personal best of 38’6″ in the triple jump and placed 6th in his debut in the jump.

Michael “Animal” Grager finished 8th in the high jump and Jacob Damon tied for 7th in the pole vault.

“These were excellent performances considering that it was below 35 degrees and very windy,” said head coach Chris Shedd.

The last home track meet of the season against West Branch is tomorrow, April 10 at 4:00.
