Tyrone softball went 1-1 at Southern Huntingdon tournament, earning a third-place finish.  Sophomore Cate Baran and senior Emily Lehman made the tournament all-star team.

The Lady Eagles improve their hitting with 29 hits as a team. C. Baran led with six, and Ally Jones and Ella Pearson each had five. Lehman, Callie Maceno, Grace Gensimore, and Emily Hamer also had multiple hits at the tournament.

Southern Huntingdon 5, Tyrone 4

Lady Eagles lost the lead in the seventh inning to Southern Huntingdon despite out-hitting them.

In the top seventh inning, Tyrone led the game 4-1, but Southern Huntingdon scored three runs on errors by the Lady Eagles to lose the lead in the seventh.

The Lady Eagles try to answer with C.Baran starting off the bottom of the inning with a single up the middle but got picked off at 1st from a double play by the 1st baseman. Lehman then hit a ground ball to the first basemen to end the game 5-4 Southern Huntingdon.

C.Baran and Jones ended the game with three hits and Pearson had two. The team collected five hits to out hit Southern Huntingdon 10-8.

Tyrone 14, Homer-Center 6

Tyrone beat Homer-Center 14-6 with Lehman hitting a home run and driving in five runs.

The Lady Eagles collected 19 hits as a team with Maceno, Lehman, C.Baran, Pearson, Jones, and Hamer having multiple hits. Pearson, Baran, Lehman, and Maceno each had three hits to lead Tyrone.

In the third inning, Lehman started with a two-run home run to tie the score at 3-3. Pearson and Maceno then had hits for Gensimore to put down a sacrifice bunt and was safe at first for Pearson to score and Maceno to advance to third. Gensimore got caught stealing for Maceno to score for the score to be 5-3.

The seventh inning Tyrone scored four more runs. Jones walked to start the inning, and Winnie Grot came into courtesy run for her. C.Baran singled to advance Grot to third, and Lyndsey Fleck came into run for C.Baran. Hamer hit an RBI single to score Grot. Lehman came up to bat and hit a single to center field scoring Grot and Hamer on the throw. Pearson also had a single to score Lehman for the final score 14-6.

C.Baran earned the win for the Lady Eagles striking out eight and walking one.
