The Golden Eagles suffered a tough loss at home on Friday against the Huntington Bearcats, 57-53. The Eagles fought hard but still ended up falling to the Bearcats.
Tyrone started the game off slowly, falling behind as much as 40-15 in the first half. Huntingdon owned the second quarter, outscoring Tyrone by 15 points, to put the Golden Eagles behind by 20 going into halftime.
After a difficult first half, the Eagles battled back from a 25-point deficit to make it a one-point game in the fourth quarter. The Golden Eagles outscored Huntingdon 38-22 in the second half but it was not enough to overcome the hole the Golden Eagles dug themselves in the first half.
The Bearcats iced the game late by making their foul shots to claim the 57-53 victory over the Golden Eagles.
Elliot Guisler led Huntington with a game-high 33 points.
Eli Woomer led Tyrone with 21 points, including three three-pointers, followed by Ashton Emigh with 12 points.
With the loss, Tyrone’s record fell to 11-8.
