The Eagles lose to Clearfield in a fourth quarter battle

Eagles lose Cinderella story.

The Golden Eagle football team suffered their second loss at the hands of the Clearfield Bisons. “It was a great, exciting high school football contest,” said Head Coach Steve Guthoff, “it was just a great contest.”

Oliver was held to only 39 yards with one rush touchdown the entire game, “ They were ready for the run [and it] set us up for the pass,” said Guthoff.

Quarterback Erik Wagner had a great game going 8-16 with 182 yards and two touch downs to Nick Getz. He also had a one yard run touchdown score. “[Eric] is just executing the plays with precision,” said Gutoff.

Tyrone’s defense had a rough time stopping Christian Lezzer who rushed for 139 yards. “He is just a good runner,” said Coach Guthoff.

The defense did record three sacks, two of those were delivered by Duane Boone. “I had to flip my beast mode on,” said Duane about his sacks.

“We have to celebrate our victories, and mourn our losses, but come ready Monday to play hard,” Said Guthoff.

Tyrone plays Central Mountain next week.
