With seven returning starters and promising underclassmen, the Lady Eagles are looking to improve from their 0-5 start a season ago.

Preparation for the spring season has been ongoing, with many Tyrone players and coaches dedicating time to year-round training and hard work throughout the off-season.

The Lady Eagles wouldn’t be the team they are without their coaches, who put countless hours and dedication into making them into the team that they are.

The head coach of Tyrone softball is Tyrone alum Hilary Soellner. She will be assisted this season by assistant coach Joe Laukaitis, as well as volunteer coaches Art Fogelman, Rich Biter, Jason Rockwell, Frank Germino, and Jeff McNelis.

The coaches teach the players far more than just the game. They teach life lessons, and they genuinely care for each of their players.

Assistant Coach Laukaitis is looking forward to the upcoming season and has specific standards he would like the girls to meet every day.

“I expect to compete to our standard every day, regardless of the circumstances. I would like to have leaders, regardless of their roles on the team, to lead by example every day. We have a lot of potential among returners and a lot of bright spots among the underclass players. We have some skilled girls who can help us compete every day,” said Laukaitis.

A big goal of the Lady Eagles this year is to win a district championship without being satisfied with the wins, throughout the season, until they get that job done at the end.

The seniors this season are Amariah Sprankle, Grace Naylor, and Allison McNelis.

The juniors include Maddy Harper, Kaitlyn Rockwell, Lucy Fogelman, Kaylee Little, Teagan Sharer, Aubrey Biter, Mackenzie Williams, and Haileigh Hunter.

Sophomores are Maddie Haines, Lily Amerman, Sophia Raneri, Sage Harris, and Jayden Albright.

Lastly, the freshmen are Leanna Beard, Piper Destefano, Emma Bonsell, Sydney Beeman, Emma Postrerich, Paisley Fix, Savannah Burket, and Leanne Clark.
