Marauders lose to Central Cambria 3-0

Bishop Guilfoyle only played one game this week as they traveled to the North Central Recreational Center (NCRC) in Ebensburg to play Central Cambria.

Coming into the week BG was 5-1-2 and Central Cambria was 11-0-0. After Central Cambria lost their first game on Monday, BG was looking to give Central Cambria another loss.

 Central Cambria 3, Bishop Guilfoyle 0

Trent Bogert had another good game giving up only three goals on 28 shots, giving him an .893 save percentage (He has a .927 save percentage this season).

The game started off slowly in the first period with no scoring for the first thirteen minutes of the game. Central Cambria’s Devin Hagens scored first for the Red Devils on a rebounded shot. Shortly later, Alexander Mikula scored a power play goal to give Central Cambria a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.

27 minutes later, on a BG powerplay, Central Cambria’s Kyle Eckenrod scored a shorthanded goal, which topped of the scoring.

Even though no players for Bishop Guilfoyle scored this week, head coach Gary Landon said after the game “I am very proud of you guys. We played our best game of the year so far, and we are only going to get better.”
