Win Over Bellefonte Keeps Tyrone in the Title Hunt

Tyrone clinched at least a share of the 2023 Mountain League title with a 65-57 victory over Bellefonte on Tuesday night at the TAHS gym.

This was a key game for the Eagles and a must-have win to keep their hope of winning the Mountain League alive.

The game was no breeze for the Eagles with Bellefonte coming out hot from behind the arc. The Red Raiders led throughout the first half and went into halftime up by 4, 30-26.

Out of the break, Tyrone got the spark they needed and came back. It was back and forth until a few minutes to go in the 4th quarter when the Eagles went on a run, pressing the Raiders and causing turnover after turnover, and cashing in crucial buckets.

Tyrone guard Dravyn Crowell led the team in scoring with 22. Gampe added 12 along with LeGars who had 11.

Senior LeGars had 2 big 3’s to pull the score to a tie or put the Eagles up by 1.

Tyrone heads to Penns Valley on Friday, February 10. A win will clinch the Mountain League Championship.
