The Tyrone Area FFA Chapter held its annual Clay Shoot at the Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennel on October 10, 2021.

Thirteen guides from the chapter came to help out, including the chapter’s officers. In total, there were fourteen teams and 75 individual participants, with 5 special guests observing.

The chapter surpassed its fundraising goal of $3000.

The Clay Shoot is held every year to help raise money for the Tyrone Area Chapter to fund activities for FFA members to attend conferences, contests, and provide service and learning projects for the community.

“The Clay Shoot was an amazing event that had a large turnout, due to all of our sponsors, participants, trappers, and the Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge,” said chapter president Rayann Walls.

The course consisted of ten stands where the participants would shoot true pairs or report pairs. A demo was allowed before each round so participants could get an idea of where the clay pigeons were coming from. After all participants would finish shooting, the score was tallied up for that stand and they would move to the next. After participants ran the course they got to sit down and eat. All participants received a meal and a 2021-2022 Clay Shoot shirt.

“It was a very fun experience taking pictures and helping the chapter by guiding participants through the course. I also liked talking to the shooters and everyone else,” shared senior Emma Bartel.
