Two members of the Tyrone Area FFA chapter attended the annual Huntingdon County Farm Bureau Meeting on March 24, 2026. They joined local farmers, families, and agricultural leaders for an evening focused on community, networking, and supporting agriculture.
Madisen Jones, serving as chapter reporter, and Alyssa Houck, chapter treasurer, represented Tyrone Area FFA at the event.
The meeting provided an opportunity for FFA members to engage with the local agricultural community while also sharing updates about the chapter’s ongoing activities and accomplishments.
The evening featured a dinner followed by a fundraising auction, which included a variety of donated items aimed at raising money in support of Farm Bureau initiatives. Among the items available for bidding were gift cards, muck boots, a weed trimmer, maple syrup, and honey.
In addition to the auction, the meeting included remarks from the Farm Bureau president, Matthew Barnett, and a 4-H leader, Christine Coral, who addressed current topics related to agriculture and business within the farming community.
Their presentations highlighted ongoing efforts, challenges, and opportunities relevant to local producers. 4-H member Annabelle Ewing also gave a speech highlighting what the Farm Bureau contributions have done for her 4-H career.
The Tyrone Area FFA chapter also took time to update attendees on its recent and upcoming activities, helping strengthen connections between the school’s agricultural program and the community.
They informed Bureau members of their involvement in AG Literacy Week, where they teach elementary school students about agriculture and safety within the industry.
Camden Behrer attended the meeting as well, accompanied by his family. He was actively involved in the auction, bidding on several items throughout the evening.
“I had a very good time with my family, and I believe the evening was extremely productive to the Farm Bureau throughout Huntingdon County,” said Behrer. “Me and my family were extremely happy to have been able to donate so much to an outstanding organization.”
Madisen Jones was also happy with the outcome of the event.
“Attending the Huntingdon Farm Bureau Meeting was not only an enlightening experience, but also a fun one. We were able to talk to other advocates of agriculture, and express our chapter’s importance, and we were also able to learn about the accomplishments of the Huntingdon Farm Bureau,” Jones said. “I am grateful to have been able to attend, and I hope other members not only from the Tyrone Area FFA Chapter, but other chapters as well will have the opportunity to attend in the future.”
Overall, the meeting served as both a social and professional gathering, bringing together individuals invested in agriculture while supporting local initiatives through fundraising and collaboration.
