Senior Night Success as Tyrone Pulls a Double Win Over PV

The Tyrone girls and boys swim team beat Penns Valley on Senior Night February 20th. The girls dominated 113-42 while the boys crushed 118-22.

Tyrone’s three seniors, Matt Beam Bryce Bauer, and Bellwood’s French exchange student Paul Lemaire, received flowers and were celebrated during the ten minute break.

Girls: Tyrone- 113, Penns Valley- 42

The team of Mae Decker, Sarah Hoover, Maddie Coleman, and Fiona McConnell earned first place in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

Freshman Coleman was the only double individual winner from the meet. She placed first the in the 50 free and 100 free (58.71). Coleman had her personal best time of 25.89 in the 50 free. The girls record in the event is 25.28

Junior Hannah Gampe secured a first place in the 500 free with a time of 7:17.39.

McConnell worked for a first place in the 100 breast and a second place in the 50 free (27.73). She dropped two seconds in the breaststroke for a final time of 1:15.29.

Sophomore Decker took two second places in both the 200 IM (2:34.71) and 100 back. She improved by a second from her previous backstroke time to finish with a 1:07.71.

Freshman S. Hoover stole second place in the 200 free. Her time was 2:21.97.

Sarah Manna earned a second place in the 100 free with a time of 1:10.95.

Sophomore Callie Maceno placed second in the 100 fly event. She dropped five seconds from her previous time in the event to place with a 1:24.27.

Olivia Thomas worked for a second place in the 500 free, working off four seconds in the process. Her final time was 7:19.62.

Cate Baran earned two third places in the 200 free and 100 back. She improved by a second in the 200 free (2:26.12) and two seconds in the 100 back (1:11.80).

Gwen Dougherty took third in the 100 breast, dropping five seconds from her previous time for a final time of 1:27.89.

Amelia Morning secured a third place in the 100 free with a 1:19.13 time.

Bellwood’s Jamyson Focht placed third in the 50 free with a final time of 30.47.

Natalia Woodring stole third place in the 500 free. Her time was 9:58.69.

Boys: Tyrone- 118, Penns Valley- 22

Jacob Decker, Matt Lenze, Carter Maceno, and Bryce Bauer earned two first places in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

Bishop Guilfoyle’s Matt Lenze was the only double winner from the boys team. He won the 100 fly (1:06.74) and 100 breast (1:12.33).

Jacob Decker placed first in the 100 back and a second place in the 50 free (24.67). He also dropped two seconds from his previous time in the back to finish with a time of 1:03.35.

Hunter Gregg secured a first place in the 200 free (2:21.49) and a third place in the 100 free (1:04.82).

Colin Yaudes stole first place in the 200 IM (2:37.40) and a third place in the 100 breast (1:18.17).

Madyson Bungo took a first place in the 500 free with a time of 8:16.44. She also worked off five seconds from her previous time in the 100 backstroke. Her final time was 1:41.48.

Nick DelBaggio earned two second place in the 200 IM (2:40.61) and the 100 breaststroke (1:18.16).

Carter Maceno secured a second place in the 100 fly. He dropped four seconds from his previous time to place with a final time of 1:11.63.

Morgan Myers took second place in the 500 free. Her final time was 8:55.79.

Senior Bryce Bauer stole second place in the 100 free (59.05) and a third place in the 50 free. He worked off two seconds from his previous 50 free time to finish with a time of 25.66.

Ben DelBaggio earned a second place in the 200 free (3:06.05) and a third place in the 500 free (9:33.02).

Cynthia Baldwin placed third in the 200 free with a time of 3:46.23

Freshman Aden McCracken improved by two seconds in the 100 back to place with a 1:37.88 time.
