Mr. Christopher Shedd, math teacher and track coach extraordinaire has been named Teacher of the Month for March.

Eagle Eye: What inspired you to become a teacher?

Chris Shedd: “A former math teacher of mine from Juniata Valley. I used to correct him when he would make mistakes in Trig class.”

E.E: How long have you been teaching?

C.S:  “Seven years, six at Tyrone.”

E.E: Have you always taught/been working at Tyrone? If not, where else have you taught?

C.S: “Two and a half years at Juniata Valley.”

E.E.: What is your favorite memory as a teacher?

C.S: “Well, Mrs. Martins’ assemblies when I got a pie on the face, of course!”

E.E.: If you weren’t teaching right now, what would you be doing?

C.S: “Managing a group of restaurants.”

E.E.: Where did you attend high school?

C.S: “Juniata Valley, Class of 1932”

E.E.: Where did you attend college?

C.S: Penn State, three times, twice successfully!

E.E.: What is your favorite movie?

C.S: “Outlaw Josie Wales”

E.E.: What is your favorite book?

C.S: “Unbroken by Lauren Hillenbran”

E.E.: What is your favorite sport and sports team?

C.S: “The Tyrone Area High School boys and girls Varsity Track and Field, of course!”
