EE: What inspired you to become a teacher?

Tracy Redinger: I had an amazing social studies teacher, Mr. Jones, during my senior year of high school who helped point me in the path of education.

EE: How long have you been teaching?

TR: Since 2003

EE: Have you always taught at Tyrone? If not, where else?

TR: I subbed in other school districts, but yes, most of my years of teaching have been here at Tyrone!

EE: What is your favorite memory as a teacher?

TR: I have too many to mention!   I love my students and they become like my “kids!”  We have a lot of fun together in the classroom and on field trips!

EE: If you weren’t teaching right now, what do you think you would have done with your life?

TR: I don’t know!  That’s a good question.  I guess if I didn’t HAVE to work and was filthy rich I would be a stay-at-home mom who would be travelling around the globe whenever I got the chance!

EE: Where did you attend high school?

TR: Hollidaysburg

EE: Where did you attend college?

TR: Undergrad at Shippensburg University. Graduate work at St. Francis University

EE: What’s your favorite book?

TR: I love fiction novels based on non-fiction events.  Fiction stories that are written from the time period of the Holocaust or early American history I love to read.

EE: What is your favorite sport and sports team?

TR: I played soccer in high school year ‘round and loved every minute of it!  Today, however, I would have to say my favorite sports teams are here at our high school!  Not professional!

EE: What are some of your favorite hobbies?

TR: My family and I love to go camping and on vacations together.  I like to go shopping.  I like photography.
