Lehman Be-Devils the Blue Devils

The Tyrone Golden Eagles defeated the Bellwood Antis Blue Devils in the Baseball Backyard Brawl behind a dominant performance on the mound by senior Cory Lehman. Before the game was called for darkness after 5 innings Lehman pitched all of it allowing only 5 hits and 1 run while striking out three.

“It felt awesome to beat Bellwood in my final game against them and I’m happy at the way we have started this season,” said Senior Cory Lehman

The Tyrone offense scored 7 runs on only 6 hits but walks and a number of errors committed by Bellwood helped Tyrone score the runs when the hits were not there. Tyrone’s RBIS were drove in by Cory Lehman and Andrew Pearson.

Tyrone’s runs were scored by Rodney Shultz(2), Matthew Savino, Andrew Pearson, Bryce Hunter, Aidan Coleman, and David Lang.

The Golden Eagles jumped on the board in the first inning taking an early 1-0 lead. Their offense scored every inning the rest of the way except the second inning. Tyrone closed the door when they put up a three spot in the 5th inning which ended up being the last, because the game was called for darkness.

With the defeat of their cross town rival Tyrone moves to 3-0 on the season. They look to move to 4-0 as they take on another non-conference opponent in St. Joe’s Monday at home.
