Brayden Parsons, Owen Oakes, and Jon Stroup led the Golden Eagles at home over the Penns Valley Rams on April 27 in a barn burner. All three players had multi-hit games, with Parsons going 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Oakes was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIS, and Stroup was 2-3.
Connor McClure was on the bump for Tyrone and threw 3 innings, allowing a handful of hits, walks, and 2 runs.
Following McClure, Ben Walk made his pitching debut for the Golden Eagles and went scoreless through 2, but then had a tough fifth inning, giving up 4 runs to put the Rams back in the game.
Carter Price came into the game in relief with the bases loaded and was able to get out of the jam, but 3 of Walk’s batters scored in the process.
Tyrone was able to add one more insurance run in the bottom of the 6th inning
Price wasted no time in the top of the 7th, striking out two and getting another to pop up to end the game with an 11-8 win.
The Golden Eagles are now 9-7 and are heading to Central Cambria on Friday, 5/1, to take on the 6-10 Red Devils.
