HOSA Blood Drive Set for October 4

The annual Tyrone High School Red Cross Fall Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, October 4th from 8:30 am to 2 pm in the high school gymnasium.

The blood drive is sponsored by Tyrone’s HOSA Club. Eligible students can sign up for the blood drive during all lunch periods.

The donation goal is 29-32 units of blood.

“Anyone who can should give blood because there has been a critical need for blood. Since COVID donations have dropped rapidly,” said Tyrone Health Tech teacher and HOSA Adviser Christie Taylor.

Interested donors must be at least 16 years old with parental consent, or 17 without parental consent.

Donors must be in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Those who received tattoos or piercings in the last year are not permitted to donate.

People who want to donate can not donate if they have donated in the past 56 days.
