Golden Eagles Fall to the Rams

Tyrone Golden Eagle baseball team suffered their second loss in their past 3 games Tuesday at the hands of Penns Valley by a score of 9-3 on senior night. Penns Valley has been outhitting every team they had been playing and that trend continued against the Golden Eagles.

Tyrone’s bats where slow again against the Rams as they were only able to get 4 hits. Matthew Savino was responsible was for two of the four hits and also drove in a run for the Golden Eagles.  Colson Lewis and Rodney Shultz had the other two hits.

Penns valley scored early and often against the Eagles to put them down at the start. Penns Valley was held in the first inning but came out in the second and scored 5 runs followed by 3 more in the second to take a early 8-0 lead over Tyrone.

Penns Valley added another run in the top of 5th inning. To move their lead to 9-0. Trone put runs on the board in their final three at-bats but were unable to make the climb all the way back up to tie the game or take the lead.

With the loss Tyrone’s record moves to 11-2 on the season with another giant Mountain League game looming. They travel to Huntingdon today to face off against the Bearcats. In the previous rematch between the two teams Huntingdon held the lead for most of the game but Tyrone clawed their way back to walk it off.
