Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: No Distance for Friendship

Senior Amy Long wanted to spend her last prom with her closest friends and asking TAHS alumni Haley Butina was the perfect way to complete her senior prom experience.

By driving two hours with her friend Jonathan Clifton to Haley’s college in Selinsgrove, Amy asked with a sign saying “I drove two hours to ask you 1 question, Prom?”

Promposer: Amy Long

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

Amy Long: “Jonathan Clifton and I drove from school to Susquehanna University so I could prompose. “I drove 2 hours to ask you 1 question, Prom?”

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

AL: “She is one of my closest friends and I barely get to see her due to distance, I thought it would be a great way to get back to the good old days.”

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

AL: “The long two hour drive.”

EE: What relationship do you have with this person?

AL: “Friendship.”

Eagle Eye: Give your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

Haley Butina: “She wanted to make her senior prom surrounded by her closest friends.”

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

HB: “She drove all the way to Selinsgrove to surprise me. I was completely shocked, it was the best promposal I’ve been a part of.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

HB: “She had stated earlier that she needed a date and joked that she would just take me.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

HB: “She went above and beyond to surprise me with something completely original.”
