Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: A Perfect Prom

Grace and Tanner

Senior Grace Gensimore and TAHS Alumni Tanner Briggs have been dating for a while, and since Grace is still in high school, she knew she had to prompose.

By searching on Pinterest, Grace found the perfect and most meaningful way to ask him to her final prom. When he was pulling into her driveway, Grace stood holding a sign with pictures of them on it and the saying “My life isn’t perfect…but it does have perfect moments, especially when I’m with YOU! PROM?”

Promposer: Grace Gensimore

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

Grace Gensimore: “I was looking on Pinterest and found the best idea. I created a poster that said “My life isn’t perfect…but it does have a perfect moments, especially when I’m with you! PROM?” Tanner was coming to my house and I hid behind truck, so he couldn’t see me. When he went to pull into his spot, I stood up and held the sign.”

GG: “I couldn’t imagine going to prom with anyone else.”

Eagle Eye: Give your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

Tanner Briggs: “I think she asked me because we had a really fun time last year and want to have a great time again.”

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

TB: “I was pulling in by her house and she was hiding so that when I pulled in she was standing in front of me with the sign. I felt surprised because it was just a normal day and I wasn’t expecting it.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

TB: “I figured that she would ask me because we’ve been dating for a while and she didn’t say anything about wanting to go with any of her friends.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

TB: “We should win this contest because it was a thoughtful and meaningful idea.”
