The Tyrone Race Series, Camp Anderson FearFest, and the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library are joining forces to present the 3rd Annual Zombie 5K Trail Run.

The event is a unique spin on a family fun run themed for Halloween.

Runners will “run for their lives” along the 5K course, where “zombies” will jump out along the run and attempt to capture the runner’s flags.

The run will be held on the first weekend of Camp Anderson’s FearFest on Saturday, October 21.

Registration is $30 before the 21st but the day of the race will cost $35.

Participants can choose to run the race or be a “zombie” along the course. Costumes for runners are encouraged but not required. Zombies must be in costume to participate.

There will be awards for the male and female overall winner, best-dressed runner, and the scariest zombie.

The course will be approximately 5K consisting of a loop around the grounds of Camp Anderson. (1057 VanScoyoc Hollow Rd, Tyrone, PA 16686)

Check-in and day-of-race registration is only available between 8:00 AM- 8:30 AM.

The race starts at 9 a.m.

Participants who sign up as zombies will not run the race, but will be placed on the course to pull runner’s flags. Runners should make sure to stay away from zombies and protect their flags.

Zombies should arrive by 8:20 a.m. to make sure they can get to the assigned location of the race.

Bites Food Truck of Altoona will also be there serving up their classic American grill menu.
