Upcoming seniors react to Jason Wilson’s hiring as head coach
On March 10, 2014 Tyrone alum and former defensive coordinator Jason Wilson was named the new head coach of the Tyrone Golden Eagle football team. We asked some of the players who will be seniors next season what they thought about the news:
Name: Garrett Hunter Position: QB
What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named the new head coach?
After finding out that the return of Coach Franco wasn’t a possibility, I instantly thought Coach Wilson was the next best man. I was very excited when I found out he got the job.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
Our defense will remain primarily the same but I expect our offense to be extremely explosive with much different play calling. I expect us to be very impressive.
What are your expectations for next season?
I expect us to make a huge run into the playoffs and remain a team to beat.
Name: Silas Crawford Position: WR/DB
What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named the new head coach?
Coach Wilson is a genius and a great coach, my reaction is being pumped beyond belief.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
I don’t think much at all, being a Tyrone football player you’re taught day in and day out that tradition never graduates.
What are your expectations for next season?
My expectations are any teams expectations: get some wins and win the District 6 title then go from there.

What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named the new head coach?
I’m very excited and can’t wait. When I first heard he was coach I knew this up and coming season will be great.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
I think with what I heard at the meeting, next season will be a lot more disciplined.
What are your expectations for next season?
With what coach Wilson brings to the table, plus the team we have and how hard everyone is already working, the expectations are very high.
Name: Bryant Taylor Position: RB
What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named the new head coach?
I am very excited about him becoming coach. I feel like he was the best man for the job. He is a young, very intelligent guy who cares deeply about Tyrone football.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
I think that we will be more successful than we have been the past two years. We have a lot of returning letterman and a lot of talent coming back.
What are your expectations for next season?
To go undefeated in the regular season and bring home a district championship, after that anything is up for grabs.
Name: Noah Tepsic Position: RB/LB
What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named the new head coach?
I was relieved to hear he was our coach, having a coach with us from the past couple of years is great.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
No, I think we will still have our normal set up.
What are your expectations for next season?
I think we have a good shot at winning districts.
Name: Cameron Bakhsheshe Position: WR/DB
What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named head coach?
I think Wilson being named coach is in the best interest of the team. I’m very excited to see what he has in store for us next season.
Do you think there will be any major changes next season?
There will most likely be a few minor changes here and there, but nothing major.
What are your expectations for next season?
Our expectation is to play with a perfection that other teams don’t play with; that’s finesse. Then use that success to carry us to victory in the District 6 championship.

I was very happy with the decision and I’m very excited.

There will be some minor changes.
What are your expectations for next season?
Win the District 6 championship.

What is your reaction to Jason Wilson being named head coach?
I believe he is the man for the job. Although we have succeeded in the past, Coach Wilson is bringing a more modern look to the team.
Do you think there will be any major change next season?
If any, they will be for the better.
What are your expectations for next season?
Excellence, our expectations are simple: perfection is demanded and our team should be nothing short of it.
