Tyrone Volleyball Drops Their First Game Against Bald Eagle

Going into the Lady Eagles home opener the Lady Eagles knew they would have a tough time beating Bald Eagle, who historically have been one of the best teams and went undefeated last year.

While the Eagles lost 25-20, there were many positives throughout the game.

“We were a young team tonight starting three freshmen and two sophomores. We have a lot of learning tonight, so it’s important that we don’t waste opportunities,” head coach Michael Kraft said.

The first set was close with a score of 25-20.

They started out well with 5 kills from senior Emily Fusco and 4 kills from senior Lea Crofcheck.

Bald Eagle won the 2nd and 3rd set with scores of 25-10 and 25-22.

Freshmen Mattie Cherry led with 13 assists throughout the game and sophomore Ebonee Rice led with 13 digs.

We gained some confidence tonight in certain areas and we have a better understanding of our weaknesses,” said head coach Michael Kraft.

Although the Lady Eagles did not win their first game, they know what they need to improve to take on their next opponent.
