Tyrone Softball Evens Record with Win Over PO

The Lady Eagles are now 1-0 in the Mountain League and 1-1 overall with the help of a win against Philipsburg Osceola.

The Lady Eagles started their game against PO a slow but in the fifth inning, junior Beth Person single-handedly turned the game around for the Lady Eagles with a grand slam, tying the game 7-7.

Earlier in the game, Pearson had a soaring double that knocked off the fence. Both Macey Tuskavich and Tiffanie Tuskavich also had line-drive doubles to the outfield.

The Lady Mounties gave up three walks and allowed multiple hits by Maci Brodzina, Macey Tuskavich, Allison Beeman, Maci Lingenfelter, and Sam Shaw.

The Lady Mounties ended up gaining two more runs in the 5th making the score 12-9, but still in Tyrone’s favor.

With a score of 12-9 in the top of the seventh and two outs, PO’s Mykenna Bryan hit a double and scored a run.

The next batter from PO hit a ground ball to KK Brodzina, the second baseman, for the last out of the game.

The Lady Eagles will return to their home field in a home game against Hollidaysburg on Tuesday, April 5th.
