The Look Ahead: Penns Valley Edition

The Look Ahead: Penns Valley Edition

The Golden Eagles are finally back at home this week against the Rams of Penns Valley. Last week, the Eagles faced Central Mountain and squeezed out a close win by a final score of 21-20. The Wildcats took advantage of several Tyrone turnovers to make the game close. In the upcoming weeks the Eagles will have to keep a hold of the ball and take advantage of their opponents mistakes. That will be a key for the Eagles as they close in on the postseason.

This week the Eagles will look to get that “signature win” against a tough opponent that has been eluding them the entire season so far. The Wildcats will bring a versatile offense to Gray Field to try to ruin Tyrone’s Homecoming. With quite a few big weapons, the Rams will bring a balanced run/pass attack against a Tyrone defense that in recent weeks has been struggling to stop teams from driving the ball.

On defense the Rams will look to bring a lot of pressure. The Eagles had trouble picking up the blitz against Central Mountain. No doubt something that the Rams coaching staff noticed and will look to bring a lot of pressure to rattle the Golden Eagles.

The Eagles offense will look to follow their game plan, which calls for running the ball efficiently to open up the passing game. Also the Eagles are looking to step it up on the line. They had a good week of practice this week and are looking to have that carry over into the game.

For all of the football fans out there, this is one you won’t want to miss. Don’t forget to show up early, the t 2016 Homecoming Court will be honored and the Homecoming Queen crowned at 6:30 prior to kickoff.
