Teaches: Health Tech
What do you think about being voted “Teacher of the Month”?
“I was surprised and shocked. I think in comparison to other teachers and the adjustments to having a baby, I used to be here early and stay late, but now I haven’t spent as much time here. It’s all about balancing”
How long have you been teaching?
“I have been a teacher since 2004. I was the assistant in the Health Tech program for 6 years prior to getting my certification and master’s degree.”
Did you always intend to be a teacher?
“No. I hated homework. When I was a freshman in high school, I knew I wanted to get into medicine. And when I was a sophomore, I gained an interest in nursing”.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
“I love working with students and sharing my love of medicine”.
If you weren’t teaching, what would you be doing?
“Probably nursing. I will always love medicine but I love teaching more”.
Where did you attend high school?
“Bishop Guilfoyle”
Where did you attend college?
“I attended Mount to get my nursing degree and then I went to Penn State to receive my masters and teaching certification”.
What is your favorite song?
“This is a tough question. I have so many. I think it would have to be “The Prayer” by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli”.
What is your favorite book?
“The Five People You Meet In Heaven. You never know who you have an impact on…”
What is your favorite sport? What is your favorite sports team?
“I love playing volleyball. I love watching football. Let’s go Steelers and PSU!”
