Rocky’s Movie Reviews: Super Mario Bros.

The first video game based movie makes its way to the RMR series: The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The cast list comes with many big names. Chris Pratt plays as Mario and Charlie Day playing his partner Luigi. Other famous actors are Jack Black as the villanous Bowser, Ana Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong.

Lots of excitement was drawn to this movie because of the large community of Mario lovers mixed with movie lovers all around.

Released on September 13th, 1985, Super Mario Bros. has been a fan favorite to many generations. Even now as Nintendo advances the Mario franchise, their fanbase continues to grow to exponential amounts.

With a $100 million dollar budget, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic were able to make many dreams come true and bring the video game to the big screen, theatrically speaking.

The movie starts in Brooklyn, New York, where two plumbers are hoping for a chance to make it big and take their business to the next level. After an accident happens under Brooklyn’s streets, Mario and Luigi try to save Brooklyn from catastrophe. In doing so, they come across a portal that sends them to a different dimension where they are no longer in their normal world.

After being split up, older brother Mario must find and rescue Luigi before the evil Bowser gets to him first. Making some new friends, Mario must find his brother and stop Bowser from taking over the Mushroom Kingdom and all other kingdoms with it.

This movie takes adventure and video game fame to a whole new level that makes every other video game fan wish their game had a movie too.
