Eagle Eye: When did you become a secretary?

Karen Raling: I have been employed as a secretary since September 1986.

EE: What is your favorite on the job memory?

KR: Many office pranks and other funny mishaps are the first things that enter my mind.  I don’t know that I could pick one specific memory.  All of my favorite memories include the bond with co-workers and friendships that have developed in working together through the years.

EE: Have you always been at Tyrone?

KR: I worked at Quality Chemicals, Inc. (aka Albemarle Corp) from 1986 until 1998.  I began working for Tyrone Area School District part-time in August 1998 as the Board Secretary.

EE: If you weren’t a secretary right now, what would you be doing?

KR: I’d be Super Nanny for my daughter and granddaughter.

EE: Where did you attend high school?

KR: Tyrone Area High School

EE: What is your favorite book?

KR: The book I am currently reading usually becomes my new favorite book.

EE: What is your favorite sport/ sports team?

KR: Football and basketball are my favorites.  Tyrone Golden Eagles, of course, and everything Pittsburgh, except the Panthers – go Penn State!

EE: What is your favorite hobby?

KR: Washing dishes and doing laundry
