EE: What inspired you to become a teacher?
TS: I have always enjoyed working with teenagers. I had several great teachers impact my life greatly and I wanted to have the opportunity to positively impact others– plus, I love math!!
EE: How long have you been teaching?
TS: This is my fifth year teaching.
EE: Have you always taught at Tyrone? If not, where else?
TS: Yes, I have always taught at Tyrone.
EE: What is your favorite memory as a teacher?
TS: All those moments when it ‘clicks’ for the students and they gain confidence in their math abilities.
EE: If you weren’t teaching right now, what do you think you would have done with your life?
TS: Probably something in therapy or sports medicine. I have always enjoyed learning about body structure and love helping athletes.
EE: Where did you attend high school/ what year did you graduate?
TS: I attended Tyrone High School and graduated in 2006.
EE: What’s your favorite movie?
TS: The Toy Story series and Remember the Titans.

TS: Saint Francis University
EE: What is your advice to the Class of 2016?
TS: Set lofty goals, work hard to achieve them and smile along the way.
