January 2014 Renaissance Teacher of the Month: Mr. Marcus Owens
Each month of the school year, the Renniassance Club chooses a teacher to honor as “teacher of the month”
The Tyrone School community voted Mr. Owens as teacher of the month for January. Some of the reasons given by students for this award are as follows:

Eagle Eye: What inspired you to become a teacher?
Owens: I enjoyed working with students and also sports. Teaching Physical Education was a no-brainer for me. I couldn’t ask for a better career!
EE: How long have you been teacher?
Owens: 4 years
EE: Have you always taught at Tyrone? If not, where else have you taught?
Owens: I did a long term sub position at Jersey Shore. Tyrone has always been my permament job.
EE: What is your favorite memeber as a teacher?
Owens: Recieving the phone call from Dr. Miller informing me that I was hired…it was such a relief!
EE: If you weren’t teaching right now, what would you be doing?
Owens: I have always wanted to be a pilot. If I wasn’t teaching, I would love to be a pilot.

Owens: Tyrone
EE: Where did you go to college?
Owens: Penn State University and Lock Haven University
EE: What is your favorite movie?
Owens: Braveheart
EE: What is your favorite book?
Owens: ” The Last Lecture”
