After teaching kindergarten at Tyrone for 35 years, Mrs. Linda Knarr will retire at the end of the 2016 school year.

Knarr has been a familiar face in the district for even longer than her 35 year teaching career.  As a member of Tyrone High School Class of 1971, Knarr has been a Golden Eagle her entire life.

According to Knarr, teaching at Tyrone was a perfect fit for her.

“I always wanted to teach at my alma mater,” said Knarr.

I’ll miss everything about her,” said Bock, “Her smile, her laughter, and her unique perspective that always helped me look at things differently

Mrs. Knarr began her career at the Warriors Mark Elementary School in the 1970s. Some of Knarr’s favorite memories were there, working alongside current kindergarten teacher Brooke Bock.

“We had tons of great memories from our years teaching great kids there,” said Bock.

In retirement, Knarr plans to spend more time with her grandchildren and do some renovations around her home.

When asked what she would miss the most about teaching, Mrs. Knarr said “I’m going to miss seeing the joy and growth in children as they start to learn.”

When people talk about Mrs. Knarr they almost always mention how nice she is. Knarr is known as a happy and bubbly person by her students and coworkers alike. “Mrs. Knarr is the perfect mix of a loving heart and high expectations for all of her students,” said Bock.

One of her former students, Tyrone senior Collin Rhoades, had nothing but good things to say about her.  “I always loved how happy and joyful she was with her students. I’ll miss Mrs. Knarr,” said Rhoades.

“I’ll miss everything about her,” said Bock, “Her smile, her laughter, and her unique perspective that always helped me look at things differently.”

Mrs. Knarr will always be remembered as one of Tyrone’s best kindergarten teachers.
