Lady Eagles Sweep Cambria Heights

The Lady Eagles might have scored their fastest goal yet, scoring in just under two minutes as they blew past Cambria Heights with ease, winning 12-1. Tyrone scored four goals under the ten-minute mark and had seven different players record goals in the victory.

“This game was definitely a blowout but definitely needed. We had a lot of hurt players that had to ease back into it and even one that couldn’t play. So, this game definitely helped that situation,” said junior Chloe LaRosa.

— Chloe LaRosa

LaRosa scored the first goal for the Lady Eagles. Junior Avalyn Moore, who was running up the right side of the field, sent the ball across the field. She played it straight in front of the goal, and LaRosa finished her opportunity to score, putting the ball in the back of the net at 1:54 into the game.

LaRosa and junior Eliza Vance both had a hat trick scoring three goals each. LaRosa was assisted by Moore, sophomore Makenzie Soellner, and Vance. Vance was assisted by Moore, Soellner, and was unassisted in her second goal.

Freshman Lexi Hess scored two goals, and freshman Adriene Maloney scored one. Maloney took the ball up the right field, making sure to get around Cambria Heights defenders. Hess anticipated the pass and started to make her run. Maloney saw the opening and made a fast, pristine pass. Hess received the ball and took a quick easy touch and sent the ball soaring into the net.

Hess went unassisted in her other goal, while Maloney was assisted by Bellwood junior Alyson Partner.

Tyrone defender junior Hailey Vanish was given the opportunity to play some offense and managed to score an unassisted goal. Bellwood sophomores Lainey Quick and Annie Bardell both added a goal as well. Quick went unassisted in her goal, and Bardell was assisted by senior Jaylee Shuke.

“Everyone had a lot of playing time and had a lot of opportunities to score. We played great and it was a much-needed game for everyone,” said LaRosa.
