Six Lady Eagles soccer players walked across the home field for almost the last time on Senior Night this Monday evening.  Each player received gifts and a flower, along with many goals and lots of food at the end.

The six Bellwood and Tyrone seniors honored were: Anna Baran, Hannah Bowser, Christina Kowalski, Madison Noll, Marissa Panasiti, and Raegan Plowman. Each of the senior girls started on this special day.

“This group of seniors have worked hard both in and out of season to get this program where it is at. They deserve to experience the success they have had this season,” said assistant coach Tiffany Smith, “Although I know these girls will do great things in their future, it will be hard losing such a diligent, competitive and respectful group of girls. As coaches we were lucky to have the opportunity to coach such a great group of athletes.”

After the pregame festivities, Tyrone wasted no time taking the early advantage as Bellwood’s Marissa Panasiti opened up the game with a goal in the first sixteen seconds.

Two minutes later, Panasiti answered on a pass from Anna Baran. Baran ended up with four assists on the night and Panasiti had her fourth hat trick of the season.

The game ended in a 10-1 rout over struggling Tussey Mountain.

It will be hard losing such a diligent, competitive and respectful group of girls. As coaches we were lucky to have the opportunity to coach such a great group of athletes.

Bellwood’s Plowman and Kowalski, junior Audrey Bowser, freshman ‘GG’ Bowser, and H. Bowser also contributed goals in the first half.  The Lady Eagles eight goals in the first half was a season high.

Thirteen minutes into the second half, the Lady Titans found a spark and recorded their lone goal of the night from Chloe Soliday.

A few moments later, Noll found Bellwood freshman Riley D’Angelo and connected making the score 9-1 with ten minutes left in the match.

Senior keeper Madison Noll even got in on the goal scoring.  Noll spent some time out of the box on offense was able to find the back of the net for the tenth goal of the night, and the first goal of her senior season.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Monday, October 19th, against the Bald Eagle Area Lady Eagles at the Harry K. Sickler Athletic Park, at 4:00 pm.
