The world is full of people who feel like they’ve been snubbed of something, whether it be an award, a friend, an opportunity, but that is a different story. In this case, here are five Hollywood stars who more than  deserve an Academy Award. Household names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper both have an empty place under the mantle. With that said, here are five Hollywood stars deserving of an Oscar.

5. Glenn Close

Glenn Close has been nominated a total of 6 times, three times for Best Actress in a Leading role and 3 times for Best actress in a supporting role. Close, not being as much as a household name like Meryl Streep, still is just as much of a powerhouse of an actor with her 6 nominations.

Recently you may know her as Nova Prime in the summer blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy. But, her more prestigious work such as “The Natural” or the 2012 movie “Albert Nobbs” in which she played a male butler and earned her a sixth nomination. Performances like hers are always enjoyable to watch and are why she earned the fifth spot on this list.

4. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is known for odd and risque film choices such as The Lone Ranger. Depp first earned acclaim for the film Edward Scissorhands in which he plays a misunderstood “monster” who has scissors for fingers. Depp has earned three Oscar nods for his performances in “Finding Neverland,”  “Sweeney Todd,” and “Pirates of The Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.” Depp is a wonderful actor to watch and carries every performance he is in. Depp’s creativity and sense of risk earned him the fourth spot on the list.

3.Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper is a common household name when it comes to good actors. Cooper has been nominated for an Oscar for the last three years in a row, his most recent was earned portraying “American Sniper” Chris Kyle. Cooper is a superb actor who keeps his viewers on the edge of their seats with his gripping performances and just all around great acting. Cooper, who will hopefully continues his greatness and his down to earth personality and emotional performances, earned the number three spot on my list.

2.Amy Adams

Amy Adams is the friendly face of the Oscars, being nominated five times in the last ten years shows that academy is pretty fond of her. Adams was just recently nominated for her first Leading Role in “American Hustle.” Adams constantly delivers A-list performances like the one in “American Hustle”. Adams portrays her character perfectly just like her other films such as “The Fighter,” and its about time the Academy stops teasing and gives Adams an Oscar.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio

Unless you’ve been hiding under a metaphorical rock you probably know or have heard of Leonardo Dicaprio. Dicaprio’s breakout role came pretty early in his career when he was only 19 in the film “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” a film that starred Johnny Depp (Number four on this list) and Dicaprio. “Leo,” as many people refer to him, has earned a nomination for Best actor in a supporting role for “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.” Leonardo continued to be nominated for 4 more Oscars after that for films such as “The Aviator,” “Blood Diamond,” and most recently, “The Wolf Of Wall Street.” Dicaprio is a great role model and an even better actor, earning tons of hate online for the fact that he has been snubbed of an Oscar so many times. Dicaprio can deliver basically any kind of performance you want whether it be a comedy, drama, or even a action movie. Dicaprio is your guy and that is why he earned the number one spot.

All these actors have one thing in common — consistency. All have been nominated for more than 2 Oscars and are truly deserving of filled spot on the shelve, this is merely my opinion and would love to hear yours thanks for reading!
