Featured Fisherman: Junior Carly Crofcheck

The Eagle Eye went through some tackle boxes to find Tyrone High School teachers and students who love to fish.  We’ll be interviewing them over the next few weeks.

Second up is Carly Crofcheck, a junior at Tyrone and a die-hard fisherman.

Where is your favorite spot to fish?

Mostly ponds and lakes, sometimes rivers like the Little Juniata. 

Favorite bait?

Drop shots, slugos, and spinner baits

Biggest fish you ever caught?

A 24 pound striped bass at Raystown Lake.

Most caught in one day?

Not sure, probably 20 or so.

Most memorable moment fishing?

Losing the biggest carp of my life, at least 30lb and 36″. 

Favorite fishing partner?

My Dad

Native trout or stock trout?

Native, they’re prettier and fight better then stock. 

How do you think they did stocking?

Don’t pay attention. 

Any tips about fishing?

Don’t get mad if you don’t catch anything, sometimes you just have bad days! Be patient. 

Best time/days to fish?

In the morning and evenings.  

Favorite type of fishing/Species?

Live lining/trolling, cast and receive.

Carp, trout, chain pickerel, and any type of bass.
