December 2014 Renaissance Teacher of the Month: Senora Holly Sechler

EE. What inspired you to become a teacher?

SS. My love of the Spanish language and my desire to impart that enthuslasm and love of Spanish to others.

EE. How long have you been teaching?

SS. Since 1995.

EE. Have you always taught at Tyrone? If not, where else have you taught?

SS. From 1995 to 1997, I taught in Boonsboro, Maryland. Then I started teaching in Tyrone in 1997.

EE. What is your favorite memory as a teacher?

SS. My favorite memory is seeing my advanced students being able to have full conversations in Spanish.

EE. If you weren’t teaching right now, what would you be doing?

SS. I’m honestly not sure, I would hope I would be using Spanish in a different profession.

EE. Where did you attend high school?

SS. Boulder high school in Boulder, Colorado.

EE. Where did you attend college?

SS. Penn State

EE. What is your favorite movie?

SS. Sound Of Music

EE. What is your favorite book?

SS. I’m not an avid reader. I don’t have a favorite book.

EE. what is your favorite sport and sports team?

SS. I love football! My favorite team is the Denver Broncos and a close second is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
