The Tyrone Cheerleading Program is already planning for the 2026-2027 squads. The team will hold tryouts for new members, and is also looking for a new Eagle mascot for next season.
Clinics for the 2026-27 Tyrone Junior High and Senior High Cheer Squads will be held on Friday, March 27th, from 6 – 8:30 pm, and Saturday, March 28th, from 11 am until 1 pm.
Tryouts will be held on April 1st and 2nd at 6 pm. Varsity on the 1st and Junior High on the 2nd.
Students will be expected to wear athletic clothing and sneakers to all clinics and tryouts.
All students enrolled at Tyrone Area Middle and High School or the Tyrone Cyber Academy, in grades 7-12, are eligible to participate in the clinics and are welcome to try out for Varsity or Junior High.
Students entering grades seven and eight will try out for the Junior High Squad, while those entering grades nine through twelve will try out for Varsity.
If a student is going into eighth or twelfth grade, trying out for a cheerleading squad, and has prior experience on either team, they are eligible to try out for Captain of the Junior High (eighth grade) or Varsity (twelfth grade).
