After a disappointing 3-2 loss against Bald Eagle Area, the Tyrone boys soccer team was matched against the Bellefonte Raiders and left wondering what caused a 9-0 loss.

Bellefonte took the opening kick of the game, sending six players up the field, looking for a long ball. They sent the ball forward, winning a 50/50 ball, the ball slipped through the Tyrone defense, allowing a shot within the first 30 seconds.

After a quick start, both teams bounced the ball aroundthe midfield for about four minutes, until Bellefonte was able to break through the midfield to the 18-yard line, and ping the ball into the bottom right corner.

The Tyrone boys off to a disappointing start, they tried to possess the ball more, hoping to find the right play to get up the field.

As the clock continued to tick, Tyrone’s hopes were starting to decrease. With only making it up the field a few times, the Eagles were desperate for a goal, but were shut down by the Raiders on the outside each time.

At the end of the half, Tyrone walked off with a rough 6-0 deficit.

To their credit however, the Golden Eagles did not quit and played hard in the second half.

But the Bellefonte offense was too much for Tyrone, netting three more goals in the second half to end the contest 9-0.
