Athlete of the Week: Andrew Ferguson

Name: Andrew Ferguson 

Sport: Golf 

Grade: 11

Accomplishments: 

Ferguson opened the high school golf season by shooting a 1-under par 71 at the Penn State Blue Course to claim the Happy Valley Invitational individual title. Ferguson’s score also helped Tyrone win the 2A team title at the event.  He followed that up with a first place finish in a field of over 50 PIAA golfers at the annual Sinking Valley Invitational. 

Coach Greg Ferguson’s quote: 

“Andrew has a great attitude, he’s very patient, and he works hard to be at his best when he competes. He has learned that there are a lot of good players, and if you want to stay with them, you need to continually work on improving. Winning at the Happy Valley tournament was well deserved. His patience and positive attitude will allow him the opportunity for more success as the season moves on.”

I’ve played ever since I was little because my whole family plays.

Act like a champion and remain positive.
