Eagle Eye: What are your thoughts from last week’s win?

Coach Wilson: We moved the ball really well and our defense bent but didn’t break. Penns Valley has been a much improved team over the last 3 weeks since they made some adjustments and they move the ball very efficiently.

EE: With last week’s win are we in the playoffs?  Who might we face in the first round?

CW: We are not locked in for playoffs. A win Friday night wouldn’t even assure us a locked spot but it would put us in much better position. We’ll worry about who we play, if we get there.

EE: What needs to improve for next week?

CW: This will be the best team that we’ve faced all season. They are good all-around at every position, there isn’t a weak spot to find. We need to play the best game of our season and we must keep our offense on the field. In the 3 games that have been close at halftime (BEA, Central, Bellefonte), Chestnut Ridge’s offense hasn’t been on the field as much. They are really explosive and break big plays.

EE: With this being the last week of the regular season what are your goals?

CW: Continue to get better from last week. Our focus right now is Chestnut Ridge. There may not be another week, so we must play with intensity and not hold back.

EE: With a tough team like Chestnut Ridge ahead what needs to happen to win?

CW: We need to maintain control of the ball and keep their offense off the field. They have a very aggressive defense that has several interception returns for touchdowns in the films that we have watched. Tackling will be essential as they are very strong. They have a duo running threat with the QB and FB. We must tackle low and drive our feet.

EE: Are there any key players from Chestnut Ridge that we need to look out for?

CW: Where do you start? QB, FB, Multiple WRs, a big line that drives you off the ball. Defense? Aggressive LBs, huge Defensive line, fast, aggressive, great tackling defensive backs. They are overall just great multi-sport athletes who are very physical.
