The Tyrone Area FFA Chapter is gearing up for one of its busiest and most exciting weeks of the year.
Celebrating National FFA Week teaches students about the organization’s mission to develop leadership, personal growth, and career success among agriculture students. For Tyrone Area FFA members, the week is not only about celebration but also about learning, teamwork, and community.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Tyrone Area’s FFA officer team has been busy planning fun and impactful “growth lessons” for their members.
These workshops are designed to help members strengthen foundational skills that will carry them far beyond the classroom. The plans are based on their chapter theme: “Be the Spark: Ignite the Future.”
Lessons focus on topics like leadership, communication, time management, teamwork, and career readiness.
In addition, members have the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of FFA traditions, official dress, and parliamentary procedure.
According to chapter leaders, the goal of these lessons is to keep members engaged while building the next generation of agricultural leaders. Chapter reporter Madisen Jones is getting her lesson ready.
“I chose to do my lesson on choosing a career path, and showing our members that they can achieve everything they want, whether they have simpler dreams or more extravagant ones. I am extremely excited to not only show our members what they are capable of, but also motivate them to do what they want,” Jones said.
Adding to the excitement, the classroom has been decorated blue and gold to reflect the FFA spirit, and the space radiates energy and pride. In previous years, the chapter has gone all out, including creating a colorful balloon arch hand-made by the officer team.
National FFA Week is a celebration of dedication, learning, and community. With thoughtful planning, cheerful decorations, and a strong sense of teamwork, the Tyrone Area FFA is ready to make this year’s celebration its best one yet.
Junior member Issac Weaver uses the new skills every day.
“I’m very excited about National FFA Week and the workshops the chapter officers have planned. I always find the lessons to be super useful in my day-to-day life,” Weaver said.
