Other Tyrone boys who earned a win against Clearfield were junior Maverick Fleck, who beat Clearfield’s Ben Wrigglesworth, 7-5, 6-4.

“Some of the players on the team had their first wins this afternoon. I think that the team grew a lot from this match,” said Grot.

In doubles, Tyrone’s Will Grot and Ronnie Kerr defeated Clearfield’s Mason Marshall-Ben Wrigglesworth, 8-5.

“When we eventually do get our win the team will be very excited and it will have been over a year since our last win. All of the matches were very close so I think that the next match day we will be more ready,” said Grot.
