Fifty one donors were present and forty units of blood were collected by the Red Cross.

Combined with the fall blood drive, the Tyrone Area High School donated a total of 86 units of blood this school year.

“We had a great blood drive in Tyrone” said Red Cross donor recruitment representative Kristy Replogle, “Thank you for your support and your school’s participation.”

“I’ve had a blessed life, so I think its good to give something to someone who has not been as lucky as me,” said first time blood donor and sophomore Wyatt Yazzie.

“I thought it went well,” said student council member Paige Umholtz, “While I was there no one passed out!”

Members of the student council helped to prep the gym for the Red Cross, assisted donors with the registration process and helped with the snacks and refreshments that were available to blood donors.

“Thanks to the students and members of the community for giving blood, and to all the student council members for helping to run the drive,” said student council adviser Erica Martin.
