LaRosa Receives Awards with the Guidance of Agricultural Courses

This week’s Supervised Agricultural Experiment (SAE) highlight features MaKenna LaRosa, daughter of Kim and Jeremy LaRosa. MaKenna has two siblings, Chloe who is 11 years old and Gage who is 7 years old. LaRosa is a sophomore at Tyrone Area High School and has been engaged in the Tyrone Area FFA chapter for over two years.

LaRosa is involved with a number of committees and attends as many leadership conferences as possible. She plays a big part in agricultural education activities. Throughout these projects, LaRosa achieved many accomplishments.

Last year finished first in 2016 State Competition then placed 11th in the National AgriScience Fair Competition. In 2017, LaRosa placed 4th at the State Competition.

Out of the chapter members who participated in the strawberry sale last year, LaRosa was the top salesperson. She also received her Greenhand Degree at the 2016 Tyrone Area FFA Banquet.

FFA and Agricultural courses have exposed LaRosa to careers that she can consider when she graduates from high school.
