His looks say rapper, but his skills scream rising country star. However you look at him, Kane Brown is sure to be a smash hit in the coming years. Coming from Tennessee, like many other country greats (Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, and Hank Williams III), Kane Brown grew up listening to country music, but also had a growing interest in R&B styles.

Brown made headway into the music world by auditioning for American Idol and X-Factor. He also posted several homemade videos of him covering popular country artists and their songs on social media. The attention and interest that his videos got him skyrocketed, and soon Kane Brown was a new name in the charts with the release of his very first original song, “Used to Love You Sober.

Brown, despite being young and new to the country music world, made history as the first artist to have simultaneous number ones on all five of the main country music charts. The song that made history was the single to release his first album, Kane Brown, “What Ifs”.

Brown’s songwriting skills are beautiful, and his passion for creating heartfelt songs drove him through the roof of the charts. It is also noted that he was an unexpected arrival to country music. If you look at a picture of Kane Brown, you see lots of tattoos, designer clothes, and diamond piercings. None of these compliment the look of the “traditional” country singer. But when he steps up to the mic, the deepness of his voice mixes with his songwriting ability blows any stereotypes out of the water.

While Kane Brown is still growing into the shell of the country music world, what is out right now is worth listening to right away. Kane Brown is going places, believe me.
