Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: When You Wish Upon a Star

McKenzie and Brent

Senior McKenzie Johnson has been good friends with sophomore Brent McNeel for a while and when they are together they have a lot of fun; Brent knew asking McKenzie would lead to another fun memory and time.

By using her love for Disney and his singing talent, Brent decided to combine the two. Going to her house and having his older sister Brooke call her downstairs, McKenzie was greeted with a song playing, Brent singing, and a sign saying “Make my WISH come true…May I go to PROM with you?”

Promposer: Brent McNeel

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

Brent McNeel: “I went to McKenzie’s house and her mom helped me set up, it took about five minutes. My sister went to her room and started playing music as she went downstairs, I began to sing and she said yes.”

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

BM: “I knew we would have a great time at prom, so I decided to ask her.”

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

BM: “McKenzie loves Disney and loves when I sing, so I wanted to do something that would give her both.”

EE: What relationship do you have with this person?

BM: “We’ve been really good friends for years.”

Promposee: McKenzie Johnson

MJ: “Brookie came over and asked me to come downstairs. When I came down, Brent started to sing to me and he had a beautiful poster sitting beside him.”

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

MJ: “Kinda, he had brought it up a few times. It just took me a while to put it together.”

EE: Why should you win the contest?

MJ: “We should win because this was a very creative promposal and Brent really took into account my love for Disney. Also, Brent has an incredible talent and I feel very lucky that he shared it with me.”
